Kim Barrington (Founder & CEO of Host) has been working in restaurants and the broader food industry for the past 15 years. It's through these experiences that she's learned first-hand the importance and impact food can have on building relationships and strengthening communities.
From working her way up in the kitchens of top restaurants in Toronto to taking leadership positions at Rowe Farms, Propeller Coffee and, most recently, as the GM of Detour Coffee, Kim has grown a passion for sourcing locally and supporting and growing small businesses, as a key part to a strong, vibrant community. It's in these businesses that you find incredible craftspeople and artisans, who do what they do because they love their art, they love food and they want to share that with the world.
But as Kim's career grew and changed one thing always remained consistent - when she has the chance she loves to host. She enjoys nothing more than creating a warm ambiance and sharing the joy she finds in food with the people she cares most about. To eat, to drink, to laugh, to enjoy. She created Host to share that all with you. To take a bit of the worry, the planning, the stress away so you can host more and enjoy it more while you do it.
